of our competitors send 35mm slides and negatives to foreign countries
for cheaper scanning.
ScanCafe sends slides to India for processing.
Britepix sends slides to Costa Rica.
These
are not the only two outsourcers. If they don't specifically say that
they do the slide scanning work in the USA, then they probably don't
do the work in the USA.
All
work from beginning to end is done in our facility in Raleigh, N.C.
employing American workers and helping the U.S. economy.
There
is a certain amount of risk in shipping any package anywhere. When you
ship a package once, directly to DiscountDigitalArt.com, you have a
very low risk of losing that package. However, if your package gets
shipped twice you have twice the risk of loss or damage in shipping.
If your package is shipped three times it has three times the risk of
loss or damage.
When
you ship your package to an outsourcer they ship it to a foreign country,
then it gets shipped back to them from the foreign country, then they
ship it back to you. In my opinion, this involves more risk than shipping
it directly to a processing center in Raleigh, NC and then having it
shipped directly back to you.
